Alicia Nafé (mezzosoprano)
She was born in Argentina and at present she is living in Madrid,. She begins her musical studies in Buenos Aires. She won all the Competitions of her country (Musical Promotions, Harmonicus and Hebraic Society). By means of scholarship she travels to Madrid and obtains the first prize " Maria Ros de Lauri Volpi " (Madrid) and the prize "Francisco Viñas" (Barcelona).
She made her debut with the ONE " Verdi's Réquiem " in the Cathedral of Toledo, and since this event she became invited of the festivals of music of Spain and in the foreigner countries. At the same time she was preparing her musical career in Lied.
Her first "Carmen" in Darmstadt, caused sensation. Quickly she reaches the big German Theatres: Cologne, Hannover, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin. Wagner de Bayreuth (taking part in two consecutive seasons with Parsifal and Walkyria). Also invitations to Geneva, Zurich, Covent Garden, Edinburgh, La Scala of Milan, Naples, Catania, Venice, Barcelona, Paris, Produces(Operates on) of Vienna, Helsinki, San Francisco, Xicago, Nova York's Metropolitan, Prague, etc.
In the Opera of Hamburg, Alicia Nafé performed all the mozartians and belcanto rolles: Rosina, Cherubino, Dorabella, Isabella (L'italiana in Algeri), Ottavia, Sara (Roberto Devereux), Adalgisa (Norma), Leonora (La Favorita), Charlotte (Werther) and Carmen.
In the recital are very estimable the works of Spanish and Argentine repertory, besides the classic cycles of Faure, Debussy, Beryls Schubert, Schumann, Mahler, Wagner and Brahms, that has interpreted in importants theatres.
She has recordings of " Cosi fan tutte ", " Figaro's ", Weddings " The Clemenza ", "Rodelinda", " Monteverdi's Madrigals " for Deutsche Grammophon, Polydor, Decca, Lyre, Denon, Telarc, Sony, Naxos and Erato. Her CD "Songs" (Bekllaphon) with works of Spanish and Argentine composers was rewarded by the record German critique. She has diverse recordings of the works of Manuel de Falla ( Las siete canciones populares españolas, El amor brujo, y La vida Breve, with the masters conductors García Navarro, Lopez Cobos and MaximianoValdés.
In the Avery Fischer Hall of New York, with the Mtro. Charles Dutoit and the Philarmonic Orchestra of NewYork, she interpreted " Las siete canciones populares españolas, La vida Breve by Manuel de Falla and the " Canciones Negras " of X. Montsalvatge.
Nowadays she offers magisterial classes around Europe and Buenos Aires and she teach in the Superior Conservatoire of Music of the Balearic Islands.
She is regularly convocked to take part of the jury in international singing competitions.
ALEJANDRO ZABALA
Of his intensive concertist activity we must stand out his dedication to the chamber music and the collaboration with prestigious singers such as Ileana Cotrubas, Margaret Price, Elena Obraztsova and Gabriel Bacquier.
He has been the official pianist of the International Toulouse Competition for fifteen years. He gives courses of Interpretation and Stylistic vocal - pianistic in numerous Conservatoires and International Seminaries.
His interest for the cycles has led him to interpreting the comprehensive compositions of Ravel, Bernstein, Mompou, Montsalvatge and Rodrigo. He has made several recordings, some of them are destinated to monographics form of Spanish composers as Pedrell, Gombau or Guinjoan.
In 2000, he receives the Prize to the Best Artist of Classic Music in the V Edition of the SGAE Music Awards.
He has recovered labors of academic management as the Director of the Superior Music Center of Music of the Basque Country (2001-2008).
He is an Academician of the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Saint George.
